Screen shot 2016-05-17 at 12.08.39 PMHi and thank you for visiting! Please note I am currently on maternity leave with an anticipated return of January 2022; exact date is to be determined. I will not be accessing emails or voicemails during this time. If you are experiencing an emergency, please dial 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. If you are not looking for immediate help and would like me to contact you upon my return, please send me an email and I’ll be in touch in January. Thank you for your understanding!

Resources for finding a therapist are Psychology Today, Zen Care, and Therapy Den. For a list of eating disorder specialized providers (i.e. therapists, dietitians, prescribers), please click here. If you continue to have difficulty finding a therapist who has availability and accepts your insurance, please contact your health insurance carrier for support.

I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts, and I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders & disordered eating, body image issues, anxiety, perinatal mental health, and sexual trauma. I received my master’s degree in counseling psychology from Boston College, and completed my clinical internship working with survivors of sexual assault.

I have previously worked as the Lead Adolescent Clinician at an eating disorder treatment center in various levels of care (residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient).  Currently, I provide outpatient therapy for older adolescents and adults via telehealth services (i.e. videochat) during the pandemic.  In non-COVID-19 times, I am based in Medway, MA. You can learn more about my treatment approach here.

I am passionate about promoting healthy body image, understanding the impact of social media on self-esteem, and encouraging parent education in the treatment of eating disorders and other mental health issues.

I can be contacted at erika@evargaslmhc.com with questions, comments, or to inquire about scheduling an appointment.
